Requests to use CGCE’s Learning Management System (LMS) (i.e. Blackboard or Canvas) with your course(s) are now submitted online through the Rowan Self-Service (Banner) system. Faculty members can submit a course request (request export), cross-listing request, as well as an extension request online.
Online, Hybrid, & Web-Assisted Courses:
CGCE online, hybrid, and web-assisted (WA) courses are automatically exported and created in CGCE’s Learning Management System (LMS). If you are teaching an CGCE course section that has been designated as online, hybrid or web-assisted, you do NOT have to submit an LMS Course Request. You should consult your assigned Instructional Designer for details as to when your course will be available in the LMS.
Evening and Day Courses: If you are teaching a CGCE evening or day course and you would like a course shell to be created in CGCE's LMS, you MUST submit a course request to have a course shell exported and created in CGCE's LMS. Currently any course whose section includes a letter with the number (i.e. 1C) is managed through CGCE's Division of Online Services. When submitting a request, you must select an area of either CGCE or Traditional. If your course shows up under the CGCE area, it will be managed by CGCE Online Services. If it shows up under Traditional, it will be exported to the on-Campus Blackboard system managed by Instructional Technology (IT). Click here to learn how to submit a request.
Does your course have multiple sections? CGCE faculty can submit a request to have multiple course sections merged. For example, some course has been split into two sections (Section 1C and 1F) for billing purposes. When this happens, the course sections will have the SAME number but a DIFFERENT letter (i.e. Section 1C and 1F). If this is the case, you will have to cross-list these two sections. To learn more, see the How to Submit a Request to Merge Multiple Sections (Cross-Listing) section in the the Submitting CGCE LMS Course Requests Online Knowledgebase article.
LMS Course Request Policies: CGCE has outlined policies and procedures (what to expect) for faculty who are teaching a day or evening class and wish to request CGCE Online Services and Support for use with the class. Click here to view the CGCE LMS Course Request Policies for CGCE faculty.
